Funny Shorts

In 1999, the St. Louis International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival ceased to be. But if all goes well, in March of 2008, Q Fest will take the place of the late SLILAG. Out & Urban, The Center and Cinema St. Louis have joined forces to create this new LGBTQ film festival, and they're missing just one key piece: You. OK, and some funding. But they can bag both of those necessaries with this evening's Five Minute Film Festival at 8 p.m. at the Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street; 314-771-8230 or www.madart.com).Your $5 admission helps underwrite the festival, and in return you can avail yourself of the cash bar and enjoy a series of five-minute shorts that are required to be both queer and humorous in nature. It's a win-win situation, people, so come on out and have a gay old time.
