The new year is already uncertain, so you might as well make your last night of 2007 full of mystery, too. But how? You've seen all of the Law & Orders showing during today's USA marathon. Good news: The St. Louis Iron Mountain & Southern Railway is the site of a terrible crime — that you get to help solve! The New Year's Eve Murder Mystery event aboard the locomotive will be just like an episode of CSI: Train, except this slaying is made complete with midnight fireworks. To help solve the puzzler, fill up on dinner and spend this New Year's Eve unlike any other, call 800-455-7245 to reserve your spot and find out about the nearby hotel specials — you'll be catching the train at 8:30 p.m. two hours south of St. Louis at the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 61 in Jackson (visit www.slimrr.com for detailed directions). Tickets for the evening cost $50, and this ride's for adults only (BYOB).
