Legendary local punk/new-wave 'zine Jet Lag launched its online archive early last year at www.jetlagmag.net — and during the subsequent months, the amount of scanned-in back issues has continued to grow. (And reveal delightful historical nuggets: U2's Bono namechecked the publication in a June 1981 issue of the NME!) To honor the first anniversary of the site, co-founder John "The Mailman" Korst is throwing a gig featuring local '80s pop institution the Aviation Club (according to a press release, playing songs that have gone unheard for twenty years). Proceeds from the show will go to A Thousand Books, an organization which sends English-language books to Peace Corps teachers.
