Liver Dance!

In 1975 Gloria Gaynor set turntables spinning with her rendition of Clifton Davis' "Never Can Say Goodbye," a hit that played a key role in sending disco music to the top of the charts. In response the Village People created a national sensation with songs such as "Y.M.C.A." and "In the Navy," leading Gaynor to counter with her No. 1 smash "I Will Survive." This Friday, all bets are off at Ameristar Casino (1260 South Main Street, St. Charles), as these two titans of the light-up dance floor go head-to-head at the American Liver Foundation's Boogie Ball, a funktacular fundraiser for the Missouri/Kansas chapter of the ALF. A $50 general-admission ticket gets you into just the concert, and the $200 VIP ticket entitles concertgoers to dinner, a silent auction and an opportunity to put that liver to work at the open bar.
