Bodies of Work

 Sensitive Content, the new exhibition at the phd gallery (2300 Cherokee Street; 314-664-6644 or www.phdstl.com), showcases two artists' differing approaches to black-and-white nude photography. On display are Jeff Palmer's highly sexualized male nudes, attuned to the shape and texture of the human body and featured in his book, Touch. Joining them on the walls of the gallery (as well as in his own book, Black & White Nude Photography) are Stan Trampe's classically styled female nudes in recognizable local settings; the Eads Bridge, Forest Park's Grand Basin and the City Museum take on new curves in Trampe's work. Sensitive Content opens with a free public reception from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, and both artists will be present to sign books.
