Ready, Vin de Set, Go!

Raise your forks for the Fourth

There are diehard fans of our city's big birthday party for America, and then there are those people who would rather not deal with the crowds — even if it means missing the fireworks. But what kind of Independence Day is it without a bunch of colorful explosions? Now, thanks to Vin de Set (2017 Chouteau Avenue; www.1111-m.com), non-fairgoers can enjoy the downtown display, too — along with dinner, drinks and dancing! On Friday and Saturday (July 4 and 5), the restaurant hosts Fourth of July Celebrations on its rooftop patio, which has a lovely view of the Arch. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. and carry on until 1 a.m., and during the night there'll be buffet eats, live music and a cash bar. The time to buy your tickets to these parties is now rather than later, so call 314-241-8989 to save your spot; admission costs $50.
