The revitalization of the Grove neighborhood continues unabated: The once-dormant stretch of Manchester Avenue between South Vandeventer Avenue and South Kingshighway Boulevard has attracted a bevy of new bars and restaurants, and even some longtime residents are getting a facelift. The rBar (4054 Chouteau Avenue) closes its doors on Sunday, August 10, for a few weeks to undergo renovations, and owners promise that the bar will reopen with "a new concept" later in the month. The watering hole is throwing one last hurrah before renovation begins: The second annual White Hot Party happens from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday, August 9. Local DJs Mahf (pictured) and Deadasdisco will be spinning into the night, and patrons are encouraged to wear white. While you're there, sample the bar's inventive martinis and appetizer-heavy menu — just try to keep those pulled-pork sliders off of your white linen pants, Casanova.
