Ms. Day's life and the Tour of Missouri intersected much last year, and quite unintentionally, she must add. While away on a winery weekend in Hermann, she watched in awe as the bike racers pushed up a rolling country hill. And when strolling around her very neighborhood a little later in the tour, she encountered these tenacious two-wheelers once again as they rode the circuit around St. Louis for the final leg of the statewide race. So impressed was she with the athleticism of the riders and the camaraderie of the spectators that it will be no mistake this year when Day is out on the streets cheering on the bikers and having a marvelous good time. Won't you join her? The seven-day tour finishes up in St. Louis this year, too — on Sunday, September 14, to be exact — and the circuit race from downtown through Forest Park and back runs from 2 p.m. until approximately 5 p.m. To learn more about the race and to see the route, visit www.tourofmissouri.com; the finish line is located at Tucker Boulevard and Market Street, but any spot along the way will provide a lovely view.
