Operating in its current incarnation for just over a year, Frederick's Music Lounge provides a perfect alternative to the overpriced and oversnooty venues that sometimes seem to be the norm in St. Louis. There's never a cover during the week, and a pitcher of Stag costs less than parking at Riverport. Factor in a lovely patio, where you can escape if the music proves too dreadful (which happens less and less), and you've got perhaps the most patron-friendly rock club in St. Louis. Just put any money you may have left at the end of the night into the tip jar or the "exit charge" box by the door, and leave, karmically right with the world, to return and drink another day.
