You’ve probably driven past Café Manhattan a dozen times -- it’s the eensy restaurant at the corner of Hanley and Wydown, situated between a high-end salon and an aquarium shop. Next time you really should stop. This ´50s-style diner (replete with authentic memorabilia, not that prefab-nostalgia junk you see in chain restaurants) offers topnotch eats. The something-for-everyone bill of fare includes personal-size thin-crust pizzas, housemade soups, plus burgers and specialty sandwiches served with awesome thick-cut fries. And don’t neglect to order a milk shake: It’ll come from the soda fountain-style front counter, creamy and delicious, with the excess served on the side. That’s like two milk shakes!
