Bud Starr’s wine shop and gourmet market now offers dinner Thursday through Saturday. The menu, devised by Starr and chef James Gill, offers familiar dishes — lamb chops, salmon, chicken — executed very well. Done-to-a-turn roast chicken, especially, is fantastic (and a great value). For a change of pace, try quail with raspberry glaze and rarebit sauce. Though there is a wine list, diners can shop for a bottle among the adjoining store’s ample, idiosyncratic selection. The corkage fee is reasonable — and waived for pricier bottles.
