Beyond Spatual City

Way back in 1989, Weird Al Yankovic parlayed his gig as a song parodist and MTV celeb into a full-length feature film called UHF. The former architecture student recruited Billy Barty, Victoria Jackson, Fran Drescher and a pre-Seinfeld Michael Richards to assist with his celluloid insanity. Yankovic stars as George, a down-on-his-luck slacker who inherits a TV station and creates some serious public-access zaniness when he lets energetic janitor Stanley Spadowski (Richards) have his own show. The 25th anniversary of this cult classic is celebrated with a party and midnight screenings Friday and Saturday (September 19 and 20) at the Moolah Theatre & Lounge (3821 Lindell Boulevard; 314-446-6806 or www.stlouiscinemas.com/moolah). There will also be a best Hawaiian shirt contest, Twinkie wiener sandwiches at the concession stand and UHF-themed trivia with the ever-popular Wheel of Fish. Tickets are $5.
