Three Strikes

You're not out; you're a turkey

You might think that parade-walking and football-playing are the most Thanksgivingly of all the sports — and that's where you'd be wrong. Sure, you woke up this morning to band music, floats and giant inflatables on the TV screen and you're planning to pass out to the sounds of a football game after lunch, but these activities don't evoke the Thanksgiving spirit quite like bowling does — seriously! What is it called when you bowl three strikes in a row? A turkey. And what says Thanksgiving more than a turkey? Exactly. So to celebrate the true meaning of Thanksgiving, get on down to Olivette Lanes (9520 Olive Boulevard, Olivette; 314-991-0365) at 4 p.m. today. You'll get a break from the relatives while enjoying discounts on bowling and drinks. Plus, you can strive for that turkey — even if you're too full to eat another bite.
