St. Louis Chamber Chorus: Tonight I Dance Alone

SLCC celebrates music, movement and time. “Tonight I Dance Alone,” features pieces commissioned for us. Australian Maclean completes Monteverdi’s musical drama, “Lamento d'Arianna”, contributing a new conclusion. World premiere “Tonight I Dance Alone”, by Sweden's Jansson, tells a poignant story written for the occasion by American poet, Charles Silvestri. Both artists travel here for the premiere. British music includes songs on dance themes by Byrd, Stanford, Wood and more contemporary Tippett. Bob Chilcott contributes “Dancing In The Streets,” and Copland's sprightly “Las Agachadas” invigorates! Centenary’s historic structure offers generous seating, views, and a gallery for post-concert reception. All are welcome.
