Whether you're looking to avoid the stress of cooking ten things at once, would rather have a meal with a few close friends than get stuck in a crowded house with your extended family, or just want to try something different, St. Louis has plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without whipping a single potato.
Restaurants from downtown, to Clayton, to O'Fallon and Ballwin are opening their doors this Thanksgiving to offer their takes on traditional holiday meals. Whether you crave turkey and mashed potatoes, or you're more interested in slow-roasted beef and roasted vegetables, the St. Louis culinary scene has plenty of options for you. Check out 12 restaurants — at 14 total locations — that will be open for the biggest meal of the year.
1. 400 Olive
400 Olive St., downtown; 314-554-7097
This modern bistro, located at Hilton St. Louis Downtown at the Arch, uses fresh, local ingredients in its St. Louis-inspired cuisine. It is offering a three-course, plated meal Thanksgiving afternoon from noon to 5 p.m. At $25 per plate plus tax and gratuity, it's one of the more affordable options on offer this year.
2. Bristol Seafood Grill

With two locations open on Thanksgiving, one in Creve Coeur and one in O'Fallon, Bristol Seafood Grill offers a buffet of turkey, cornbread & sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and green beans. Adults pay $36 each, while kids ages 4-12 eat for only half the price of the adult menu. Kids three and under are free.
3. Candicci’s Restaurant & Bar
100 Holloway Rd., Ballwin; 636-220-8989
This classic Italian restaurant in Ballwin is offering a buffet with four different types of meat — roasted turkey, brown sugar & pineapple glazed ham, roasted top round of beef and hickory smoked pork loin with apricot sauce. Side dishes include stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce. Dessert options are pumpkin pie, pecan pie and various fruit pies. Classic favorites will also be served. Kids 10 and under eat free, while those ages 11 and up are just $8.99 and adults are $22.99 each. Those prices make Candicci's one of the most affordable options for families of all the restaurants on our list. Reservations are recommended.
4. Cardinals Nation Restaurant & Bar

If you're the type of Cards fan who supports your team year round, head on down to Ballpark Village to enjoy Thanksgiving and celebrate baseball with your fellow fans: Your meal at the Cardinals Nation Thanksgiving Brunch includes admission to Cardinals Hall of Fame & Museum. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., adults pay $40 each; children ages five to eleven are $18, and children under five are free.
5. Cielo Restaurant and Bar
999 N 2nd St., downtown; 314-881-5759
The highly acclaimed restaurant at downtown's Four Seasons St. Louis is providing one of the most extravagant Thanksgiving dinners ever dreamt up. At $90 for adults and $37 for children ages five to twelve, the price is high, but the gourmet food served is well worth the cost per plate if you have the money to spend.
