You can't throw an empty can of Busch without hitting a building that's supposedly haunted in St. Louis. An annual pop-up dinner series is slowly working its way to serving guests at all the hits.

This year's "Dinner Party From Hell" will terrify those who dare to participate at the Little Bevo (4751 Morganford Road, 314-833-8889).

The event came about after organizer Mona Kidane caught wind that there had been some hauntings at Little Bevo's beautifully renovated venue and thought it'd be perfect for this year's three-course meal on the eve of Halloween.

Little Bevo had been vacant for 40 years before Nick Fruend and his father closed on the space in 2021 and brought the Tudor Revival-style building back as an event venue.

Fuend's sister, Natalie Fruend, says there's definitely something paranormal about the space. Lights occasionally flicker. And once, the building's windows, which can only be opened from the inside, were found wide open after the building was locked for the night. The building's caretakers also brought a medium into the space, who said Little Bevo was occupied by "nice" ghosts.

"I'm there by myself pretty religiously, and you kind of get that feeling of a presence every once in a while," Natalie Fruend says.

Previous Dinner Parties From Hell have been held at the Lemp Brewery Haunted House and Lehmann House Bed & Breakfast, where it's believed the original owner of the house haunts its halls after dying in the master bedroom shortly after the house was built in 1893.

At Little Bevo, Kidane says the evening will be spent hearing stories of its hauntings and taking tours of the space before feasting on a three-course pairing dinner.

The dinner includes wild mushroom pumpkin soup followed by red wine-braised beef and a cranberry-orange cheesecake. Each course will be paired with cocktails including a "poisoned autumn apple," a whiskey sour fizz and orange espresso martini.

Music and "surprise" entertainments will dot the evening, according to Kidane. Little Bevo has hosted several drag shows in the past (you may know Nick Fruend by his drag alter-ego Janessa Highland), and a part of the evening will honor that with a number performed by the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus.

Kidane expects between 50 to 100 attendees. Tickets cost $100 and are available online.
