According to police, Sandra A. Medert, 33, of Arnold; her brother Kenneth Medert, 29, of Barnhart; and Matthew Angle-Marshall, 19, hatched a plan to rob a 61-year-old Affton man in his home in the 8600 block of New Hampshire. The suspects were not expecting another man, 64-year-old Dennis Price of De Soto, also being in the home when they arrived for the robbery January 21.

According to reports, the homeowner, Anthony Simon, is legally blind and had employed Sandra Medert to run errands for him. She allegedly told her brother and Angle-Marshall of Simon's condition, who agreed to rob him at his home. Police believe Kenneth Medert and Angle-Marshall got into a fight with Price and Simon that ended in Price being stabbing death. Simon was also stabbed and shot, though he is expected to survive.

Police arrested the suspects yesterday. Sandra Medert is being held on $100,000 bond. Her brother and Angle Marshall are being held on a $500,000 bond. All three have been charged with each with one count of murder in the second degree, robbery in the first degree, assault in the first degree.
