Dozens of Cats Euthanized After Discovery in Wretched Jefferson City Home

The house reeked of cat urine. Nearby neighbors complained that the felines living in the Jefferson City home were so numerous they had to spray them with a hose to get the animals off their backyard patios.

And on Monday, the Jefferson City Animal Control raided the house seizing 19 cats. On Tuesday they returned and carted off another 8 animals. All 27 cats have now been euthanized after being diagnosed with FIV, or feline AIDS.

Animal control has not yet identified the person (or people) living in the home. Daily RFT has a phone call in with the Jeff City shelter for more information.
