Clayton attorney and Brentwood resident Frank Anzalone died Monday of complications from a heart condition and diabetes. He was 62.

The Post-Dispatch today has a touching obit on Anzalone, who gained notoriety around town for defending people who few other lawyers would touch -- those convicted of murder, drug dealing and prostitution who often could not afford to pay him for his counsel.

Last year Riverfront Times followed Anzalone around for a few days for a profile of the disheveled and somewhat eccentric attorney. You can read that story here.
