26 Things to Do to Celebrate 314 Day in St. Louis

Greater St. Louis Marathon & WashU 314 Day Fun Run

If running is more your speed, kick off your 314 Day with a 3.14-mile fun run from Washington University’s Danforth through Forest Park, the Washington University School of Medicine campus and back! The run will start between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. at different intervals. Following the run, join participants for donuts and coffee on the east end of the med school campus facing Forest Park. 314 Day Illumination of the McDonnell Planetarium

The James S. McDonnell Planetarium (5100 Clayton Avenue) will be illuminated with a new colorful, limited-edition 314 Day 2024 design, created by local artist Marley Billie D (Instagram: @marleybillied) on March 13 and 14 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. each evening. The light display will be visible from east- and west-bound Highway 40/64 or by visiting Forest Park and heading up Faulkner Drive and around the Planetarium grounds. (Note: the photo above is from last year’s projection of local artist Dan Zettwoch’s 2023 design — this art will be brand-new).

Free Gooey Butter Cake from Butler’s Pantry

Great Rivers Greenway is highlighting seven routes across St. Louis city, St. Louis County and St. Charles County that are all 3.14 miles long in honor of 314 Day. Options include St. Vincent Greenway (St. Vincent Park to Rock Road Transit Center), Centennial Greenway (St. Charles County Heritage Museum to Schaefer Park), Busch Greenway (Duckett Creek Trailhead to KATY Trail), Centennial Greenway (Shaw Park to Old Bonhomme), St. Vincent Greenway (Missouri History Museum to Etzel), Mississippi Greenway at Cliff Cave Park and Sunset Greenway at Sunset Park. 314 Day Local Vendor & Wellness Expo at the Armory STL

On Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Armory (3660 Market Street) will host a free 314 Day Local Vendor and Wellness Expo featuring small businesses specializing in 314 or St. Louis-themed merchandise, products and services. Make sure to dress in your leggings as there will be a fun workout experience with local health and wellness partners.

Mini-Golf and Shuffleboard at Magic Mini Golf

Get swinging at Magic Mini Golf (6160 Delmar Boulevard) on March 14 with 18 holes of indoor miniature golf or indoor shuffleboard for $3.14. While there check out their Ferris wheel and enjoy some pizza! Magic Mini Golf is open from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Bowling at Flamingo Bowl and PinUp Bowl

Spend 314 Day on a high note with Hi-Pointe Drive-In’s St. Lunatic, a St. Louis-inspired burger.  Hi-Pointe Drive-In (multiple locations including 1033 McCausland Avenue) will serve a burger so St. Louis that it’s unhinged. It features Hi-Pointe burger patties, pork steaks, Red Hot Riplets, t-ravs, and Provel cheese sauce in between St. Louis-style pizza buns. From Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, March 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. get your hands on the special gooey butter butter cake ice cream sandwich in honor of 314 Day at Sugarwitch (7726 Virginia Avenue). The sandwich will be made of gooey butter cake cookies with a zested buttermilk ice cream in between.

Made in STL Short Film Exhibition

Arkadin Cinema is hosting a free Made in STL Short Film Exhibit from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring local filmmakers’ short films shot in the St. Louis area. There will be local snacks, beverages, spirits and beer at the concession stand. Seating is first come, first served.

Dinner and Tours at Das Bevo

Starting at 5 p.m. on March 14, Das Bevo (4749 Gravois Avenue) will offer an evening of food and drink specials, live music from Three of a Perfect Pair and free tours of the historic St. Louis landmark — all the way to the top of the windmill — in honor of 314 Day.

Celebrate the Lou and STL’s Women Run St. Louis Campaign

If you’re on Yelp, you’ll want to stop by Benton Park Cafe (2901 Salena Street) from 6 to 8 p.m. on 314 Day to mingle with people in the “Yelp Elite Squad” and support a local business. For one day only, in honor of 314 Day, Mission Taco Joint (multiple locations including 908 Lafayette Avenue) will once again offer its Toasted Ravioli Taco. Mission Taco is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays.
