Everything We Saw at Bigfoot Driver's Retirement Party

BIGFOOT, the world’s first monster truck, was born in North St. Louis County at the hands of Bob Chandler. Chandler is a U.S. Navy veteran and contractor who opened the Midwest 4 Wheel Drive Center in his family’s garage after a motorcycle accident cut his construction career short. Bob enlisted the help of his neighbor and friend Jim Kramer with the creation of the car crushing monstrosity, and Kramer later became the original racer and vice president for BIGFOOT. If you ever saw BIGFOOT decimate the competition in the '80’s, more than likely he was behind the wheel.

Kramer took his final ride with BIGFOOT over the weekend, retiring from driving the historic monster truck. The event took place at BIGFOOT’s current headquarters in Pacific, Missouri, drawing hundreds of fans from all over the country. Chandler and Kramer autographed auto parts, took photos and swapped stories with their supporters. A remote control monster truck competition ensued, and guests could take a ride in “Sergeant Smash”. Multiple monster truck drivers flattened vehicles and flew through the air, delighting attendees while awaiting Kramer’s final smash. The moment came for his last hurrah, and it is safe to say he stayed true to BIGFOOT’s legacy — not a single car laid untouched.

But the monster truck legacy lives on. If you’re ever looking for a monster truck to come out to your birthday party, corporate event or wedding, Juggernaut Racing (636-345-6040) has you covered.
